Lasrisas is a book blog; that is, I read a book, and then I review it, or simply give my opinion on it, through this blog. For more about my reading habits and interests, please visit the “Favorites” page.

I do not in any way guarantee the correctness and/or depth of my reviews; sometimes I am susceptible to human laziness and merely jot down something along the lines of “I liked this so you should to,” or “I didn’t like this; rip it up and use it as toilet paper.” I do, however, try to put in a little more information about the novel when I can think of something that jumped out at me.

The Rating System: I typically rate books out of a scale of 10–however, this has absolutely no technical or real relevance to anything. The rating system is based on complete opinion, not “fascinating plot development” or “intricately developed characters!” The better I like it, the higher score it’s going to get. Sometimes I won’t be able to completely justify why I gave this one a 9, and that one a 4. It’s totally biased. In fact, if you click through the categories and look at the books I’ve rated 10’s, you’ll find that most of the time, those are the ones with the least commentary of any of the reviews. When I like them that much, it’s even harder to find something to say. It’s just a feeling. However, if I don’t like a book then I have no problem completely chewing it to pieces and writing several paragraphs about what the hell the publisher was smoking when they decided to publish this so-called novel.

Biography: I am a student and have recently graduated from high school. I currently live in Seattle, but I am looking forward to attending the University of Chicago this September as a college freshman.
